Who is responsible and what this notice covers
Signoapp is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. The notice covers Signoapp-operated services and does not govern third-party websites, services, or self-hosted Signoapp instances operated by someone else.
If an organization gives you access to Signoapp, that organization may separately control account or workspace information. Its own privacy notice may also apply.
Browser extension and Chrome Limited Use
The Signoapp browser extension lets you save and organize web content in your Signoapp library from a browser side panel. It handles page data only after an action you take in the extension or its context menu. Depending on what you choose to save, this may include the page title and URL, selected text, links, images, or a full-page copy. Full-page capture requires a separate optional site-access permission.
Signoapp's use of information received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use extension data only to provide or improve the user-facing features you request and related security and reliability operations.
- Browser permissions are limited to the side panel, temporary access to the active tab, context-menu actions, capture scripts included in the extension package, extension preferences, and access to Signoapp domains for sign-in and the hosted canvas.
- The extension does not continuously monitor browsing or collect pages in the background. Optional access to other sites is requested only when you choose to capture a full page.
- We do not sell extension data or use or transfer it for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's disclosed single purpose.
- We transfer extension data only when needed to provide the requested feature, protect the service, comply with law, or complete a business transaction with the consent required by the Chrome Web Store policy.
- People may access extension data only with your specific consent for support, when needed for security, when required by law, or after the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
- Personal or sensitive data sent between the extension and Signoapp is transmitted over HTTPS. Local browser storage is used for extension preferences and the connection settings you configure.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created through your use of Signoapp, and limited technical information needed to run and secure the service.
We do not require sensitive personal data. Because Signoapp stores content you choose, your notes, files, pages, prompts, or chats may nevertheless contain sensitive information. Please save only information you are authorized to use.
- Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, language, time zone, and preferences.
- Library content, such as URLs, page copies, notes, images, PDFs, highlights, tags, lists, reading progress, custom prompts, chat content, imports, and backups.
- Integration data, such as API keys, RSS feeds, webhook settings, browser-extension activity, mobile sync data, and collaborator invitations.
- Subscription records, such as plan, billing status, Stripe customer identifier, and transaction-related records. Signoapp does not receive your full card number.
- Technical and usage data, such as IP address, device and browser details, timestamps, cookie identifiers, diagnostic events, logs, feature interactions, and approximate location inferred from an IP address.
Where information comes from
Most information comes directly from you when you create an account, save or upload content, configure an integration, contact support, or pay for a plan. We also receive account and payment status from providers that support those actions.
When you save a URL or subscribe to an RSS feed, Signoapp may retrieve the public page, metadata, images, and readable content from that source. Collaborators may provide your email address when inviting you to a shared list.
How and why we use information
We process information to perform our agreement with you, operate Signoapp, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product reliability, comply with legal obligations, and obtain consent where applicable law requires it.
We do not sell personal information. We also do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or to build advertising profiles.
- Create and authenticate accounts; sync, store, search, display, export, and back up your library.
- Fetch and archive pages; generate previews; organize content; power full-text and semantic search; and run rules, feeds, webhooks, and integrations you configure.
- Provide optional AI tagging, summaries, embeddings, chat, OCR, and related features according to your settings.
- Process subscriptions, enforce plan limits, send service communications, respond to support requests, and maintain business records.
- Prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, protect users and infrastructure, enforce our Terms, and comply with lawful requests.
- Understand aggregate product performance and improve accessibility, reliability, and user experience.
AI processing and automated features
If AI features are enabled, Signoapp may send the text, image, metadata, prompt, or other content necessary to complete the requested task to the configured AI or embedding provider. The provider and model can vary with product configuration and feature availability.
AI-generated tags, summaries, search results, and chat responses may be inaccurate. Signoapp does not use these features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Provider handling may also be governed by its terms and privacy commitments.
When information is shared
We disclose data only as needed to provide a feature, follow your instructions, operate our business, protect the service, or comply with law. The categories below depend on the features you use and how the deployment is configured.
Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. We use contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the transfer where required.
- Clerk for authentication and account security; Convex for application data; Vercel and private Vercel Blob storage for hosting and files.
- Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing, fraud prevention, and payment records.
- Configured email, analytics, error-monitoring, anti-abuse, crawling, and AI providers when their functions are used.
- Collaborators, invitees, or the public when you deliberately share content or make a list public.
- External services at your direction through API keys, webhooks, RSS, import/export, mobile sharing, or other integrations.
- Professional advisers, a successor in a business transaction, or public authorities when reasonably necessary and permitted or required by law.
Public and shared content
Libraries and lists are private by default. If you publish a list or accept collaboration, the selected content and associated profile or collaboration details become available to the audience you choose. Anyone with access may copy or redistribute what they can see.
You can change a list's visibility or remove collaborators, but copies already made by other people or external services may remain outside Signoapp's control.
Cookies, local storage, and analytics
Signoapp and its authentication, security, and hosting providers use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in, protect sessions, remember language and display settings, route traffic, measure reliability, and understand use of the service.
You can control cookies through your browser or device. Blocking essential authentication or preference storage may prevent parts of Signoapp from working. Signoapp does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals because no common response standard applies.
Retention and deletion
We keep account data and library content while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Retention can differ for backups, security logs, support records, billing records, and data that must be preserved to comply with law or resolve disputes.
When content or an account is deleted, it is removed from active systems and then expires from backups or provider systems according to applicable retention cycles. We may retain a limited record where necessary for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of claims.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including authenticated access, authorization checks, private file storage, encrypted transport, scoped API credentials, monitoring, and provider access controls.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account and API credentials confidential, use strong authentication, review sharing settings, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify or correct, cancel or delete, oppose or object to, restrict, or obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to withdraw consent. Mexican users may exercise their ARCO rights. You may also complain to the competent privacy authority.
Use Signoapp's settings to update preferences, manage sharing, export bookmarks, disconnect integrations, or delete content. For other requests, contact support. We may verify your identity and authority, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. Exercising a privacy right is free except for legally permitted reproduction or delivery costs.
Children, changes, and contact
Signoapp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use Signoapp only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Contact us if you believe a child provided data without appropriate authorization.
We may update this notice as Signoapp, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when a change is material or consent is required. Contact Signoapp support to exercise a right or ask a privacy question.
